Waterfalls are one of nature's miracles. The sight and sound of water is beautiful, relaxing, and somehow connects the physical and spiritual. But how do we capture all of that in a painting? The thought alone is daunting.
Over my career as an artist I have developed my own approach to painting waterfalls, and as the workshop name implies, a lot of that process involves dealing with edges (mostly soft edges) in painting water.

In this workshop we will delve into this process of how to handle edges when painting water. I also look forward to sharing many other concepts and ideas that will help your paintings of waterfalls to really flow!

Content:
The workshop consists of two sessions. The first session covers examples, setup, several small studies, and the beginning of the painting. The second session is the finish to the painting and an evaluation.

Workshop Videos: These are edited recordings of live online workshops. They contain all the course material from a full, 6 hour workshop including Q&A, but have been edited to remove 'dead space' where students were completing assignments. This way you can 'pause & play' and complete the workshop at your own pace.

This video is meant to be used as a live instructional tool where you can paint alongside Carl. We have opted for no musical background so that you can choose your favourite painting music to accompany Carl's instruction.
